Crash trying to join server

I've been playing PR for a couple of months, since just before the last update. It's a great game, but yesterday I started having an issue.

The issue is that I cannot join servers anymore. I start PR like I always do (the shortcut on desktop that links to PR.exe), go and browse for a server to play on.....but as soon as I double click to enter the server I get a crash to desktop. It doesn't display the loading screen at all.

I haven't changed anything in software or hardware when it started crashing. PR was working flawlessly up until this point.

My system is...

Dual core AMD 2.0Ghz
8600 GT
2Gb ram
X-Fi Fatality
Windows XP SP3

We need to have you start the game in Windowed Mode so that any errors that may appear from a game crash will appear. You can then write down the exact error given which may give us some insight on what is wrong.

In order to further investigate this. Please do the following modification to your shortcut: Right click your PR 0.756 shortcut. In the Target section, change "+ fullscreen 1" to "+ fullscreen 0" You will get a windowed version of the game.

Start the game as normal and wait for the crash. When it does you may see the error or need to Alt Tab to see it. Post it here exactly word for word, symbol by symbol.

There is no error displayed, even when I use windowed mode as you describe. I simply double click on any server in the list, and instead of launching the game, PR just crashes to desktop. No error message, no noises/beeps/dings. I moved the window so that if there was an error displayed in the centre of the screen, I would be able to see it, but there was still no error.

Well in typical BF2 fashion you could always try the usual fix all which is a removal of BF2 and PR mod programs from Add/Remove Programs and then a complete reinstall. It tends to fix most issues of this nature.

I got the same problem, and I already uninstalld pr and bf2, but still the same problem.

I reinstalled BF2 and PR, and now it's all working perfectly again

Exactly the same as in you also tried windowed mode, looked for errors, don't have similar crashing with other things etc? And you followed the method of re-installation as outlined in the link on my previous post?
