The other bats worked fine but the 2play_PR.bat or whatever has an error when I run it. Already uninstalled PR. Just waiting for gloryhoundz to get back up so that I can download it again.

OK, if that won't work then try to download this edited version.
Put it to the other BATs.
Just copy over the text using right-click, mark, selecting all of the text, then hit enter.

Turn 360 degrees and walk away is what you should do tbh.

I used your editted runfirst as I had the same issue as the OP, and this is what I got after I ran it.
Code:
*EDITED VERSION*
*All system messages will be displayed*
.
This will backup the original files (by renaming them to shaders_client.zip.back
up)
The file will delete itself after finnishing the process.
-----
Press any key to continue . . .
-----

C:\Windows\system32>COPY ..\..\bf2\shaders_client.zip ..\..\bf2\shaders_client.z
ip.backup
The system cannot find the path specified.

C:\Windows\system32>COPY ..\..\xpack\shaders_client.zip ..\..\xpack\shaders_clie
nt.zip.backup
The system cannot find the path specified.

C:\Windows\system32>COPY ..\shaders_client.zip ..\shaders_client.zip.backup
The system cannot find the file specified.

C:\Windows\system32>COPY ..\movies\warning.bik ..\movies\warning.bik.backup
The system cannot find the path specified.

C:\Windows\system32>ECHO OFF
-----
Oops...
The installation has failed.
Right-click, select Mark and then mark everything in this window.
Then press ENTER and paste all of this to the forums.
-----
Press any key to continue . . .
This is a brand new install of the Complete Collection via direct download, with the 1.41 patch installed, and all expansion packs. Any ideas?

Vista, right?

Thanks for running that script. Nice to see Microsoft "fixed" something, yet again...

Alright, the problem is simple.

See that C:\Windows\system32 path?

That's not supposed to be there. There should be a path to the folder where the scripts are located - ie. BF2 root\mods\pr\_BAT scripts_

Of course, I can just change the path manually, but then it won't be universal as I want it. I'll try to figure something out.

Meanwhile, try changing the extension from .bat to .cmd
Maybe Vista handles them differently...

Sorry for leaving that part out, yes it is Vista, Home Premium to be exact. No SP1 installed.

Ok fellas, i havent played PR since last summer, almost a year. I started to think bout it the other day and go "hmm i want to play it again" so i reinstalled BF2, patched to 1.41. Downloaded PR core 0.75, and the levels install for it. i go to play, servers show up fine and all. I click to connect to a server, all excited ofcourse to see the new content. When i get to 15% load i crash to desktop, no warning/error messages or sounds, i just go straight to desktop, closing itself out at 15%. Tried it many times still same result. So i think im replying under the correct forum. Any insight is greatly appreciated.

I have the same problem as most others it seems, the 'ALT-F4' screen. Apologies for dragging up an old thread, in conjunction with the one I have already posted in, but this one seems appropriate for feedback on this script, or whatever it is. The file I got was a little installer, which I ran from both the Desktop and the BATS scripts folder in Battlefield2\pr, but it had no affect. I do not understand the 'put it to the other BATs'. what does that mean?

There's no need for you to download this vesrion. It was made specifically for Nicko. It's basically the same as the normal version, it just writes out all of the system messages (good when I need to do diagnostic).

The normal version should just work fine for you. If it doesn, then you, most likely have Vista, right?

I know what I'm about to say gonna sound crazy, but don't blame me.

It looks like the way Vista handles account power is just crazy.

While testing with my friend I found out that a possible way to launch these scripts would be to:
Download and install Total Commander.
Launch Windows Commander as an admin.
Use the BATs from there.

Can anybody confirm this?

BTW, I'd like to add that the PR Batch Scripts 0.15 fix allowed my PRSP to work on my vista laptop (ea digital download again)

so thanks again!

Respect the R-Staff, they are pretty...pretty badass
so, if you don't like PR, get a refund
