x-fi sound card

hello everyone
my ? is about the xfi setting on the audio options in bf2

first of all my rig
Pentium 4 3.2
2gb memory pc3200
40gb sata 7200rpm system drive (this drive just holds the windows xp pro sysetem files)
400gb sata 7200rpm data drive (this drive hold game data misc data and and a second partition for page files)
ati x1950 pro 512mb gddr3 256bit rate pcie
soundblaster xfi extreme audio

so my problem is in the bf2 audio settings are
software
medium
eax enabled

i go and try to use xfi instead of software or hardware
and i use and level low medium or hard
with eax enablec
and all i get is lag

there is now lag at all with the top settings that i presented
is there a different setting in the main audio setting in windows that need to be set

if any one has this issue please fill me in on you adventure for better sound

Enable Game mode in your Sound Blaster control panel.
Its either in Entertainment mode,Audiio creation Mode, Or Game mode.
Its in the Creative Audio COnsole.
And, by the way, there is an Ultra-High Setting in Bf2 audio controls for when you get it working right.

There's a lot of fun stuff in those EAX control panels regarding the surround sound too.
Creative Audio Console
Creative Console Launcher

The launcher looks cooler.
Oh yeah, enable EAX in there also.

Dude, I did the extreme gamer, gave it to my brother then went and bought the SB X-FI Xtreme gamer fata1ty pro with x-ram.
It makes a difference.
It wasn't even that much.
I say Do It.
You'll need it in the future.

I have that card and it works great. Honestly in the games ive played you notice it quite a bit, in gunshots and explosions but where this card shines...let me just say the gods of rock will thank you!

the x-fi extreme audio isnt really an x-fi.
its more a better audigy card that creative labled x-fi and sell it as the cheapest x-fi card.
so you cant use all that special x-fi features and you cant set it to game mode and you cant use the BF2 x-fi sound mode, cause this card isnt a x-fi..

shame on creative..

go and buy the chepest x-fi card you can get, that isnt the extreme audio card and youll be happy!

I've just bought a Creative X-Fi Extreme Music. After a troubled installation (IRQ conflict and a couple of blue screen) I can play with X-Fi High settings.
Finally I can play with acceptable sound quality and voip, because my sound card broke on october :/ I'll start to enjoy 0.7 in the next days ^^

Please, have patience... i'm a friggin italian ..
