Nah, the mac is for work mostly. I dont think BF2 works on the mac platform, with bootcamp it does ofcourse. But overall I really like the Mac OS, it really suits me what I need from my laptop right not.

Vista stink, it stop your programs that are in running. And Vista have too much of bug. The system is not good to play a game. And I forgot to say something. Vista uses more ram than other. Its equal 10 time xp.

I did not vote, since my PC is old, but I will get a new one in a month, and Im 100% sure that I will at least TRY Vista out. I will have enough RAM for it, and I would like to see DX10 in action.

I'll probably put it on one of my comps,
My policy in regards to a new MS OS is to always wait for a SP1
to come out before trying it.That was back in February I believe so
it's time.

My advice is, if you buy a PC pre-built with vista or any other OS, learn to re-install it yourself with none of the junk the manufacturers want on it, just the drivers you need installed, and partitioned as you want it.

Like it or not, Vista is the future of PC's (and I hate it). My undertanding is that as of Feb this year you can no longer buy a PC with XP preinstalled, and Feb next year XP will not be supported at all anymore. Further more, there are already products out there that cannot be used with any OS less than Vista.

I'm just wondering how many others are out there using Vista or are you using XP with a partitioned HD or perhaps you just tossed the preinstalled Vista and reformatted with XP?

If there are enough of us, is it worth asking for a dedicated Vista support forum here at PRM?
The best advice I have for you is to disable all the great "features" that Vista provides... UAC, Volume Shadow Copy, ReadyBoost, SuperFetch, etc...

Re: How many Vista users here?

With a properly set-up Vista its as fast as XP, in both gaming performance and overall os speed. The stuff that vista is slow and eats all your ram is complete bulltits... My Vista on 2GB rig (laptop btw) uses 750MB ram, WITH WMP and MSN,Hamachi,DAEMON,RMClock,Xfire,anti-virus and more running! If I shut everything down it goes down to around 600MB ram, and Iv seen it as low as 450MB after exiting games.

@Vista haters, before you say its shit, learn to use it and using it one week is not enough.

The story was exactly the same when XP came out over win 2k.

Oh and Vista looks 10x better than XP and has DX10 and much more that XP dont have

Zepto Znote 6625WD, C2D T7100 @ 1.8GHz, 2GB ram, GeForce 8600M GT 512MB, 200GB HDD, 15.4" Wide Glossy, Intel ABGN, 7.1HD sound, Vista Prem

I also remember being able to run XP flawlessly on a comp with 256MB RAM, no joke. Vista has done nothing but sap the resources of an otherwise perfectly good computer, and offer me little more than a sparkly looking theme in return. Also, it makes things overly complicated, like messing with desktop settings, or hell, even the control panel. I know where to find it all, but I much preferred the way XP did it.

When DX10 becomes a REQUIREMENT for gaming, I'll consider getting Vista again. Until then, XP is still vastly superior.

Thats so true. With 2g ram u can run vista as smoothly as xp. On 1g ram u just need to change some configurations.
I had Vista preinstalled on my notebook and i changed to xp - and I have to admit that was bad decision. I had problems with drivers, xp is missing some small but useful tools that vista had, and PR and other games run same on xp as they did on vista (except those dx10 of course).
