Crash to desktop both PR and now BF2! wtf

I recently installed the PR mod and once I get on a server I crash to desktop within a minute. When I play on BF2 now the same problem happens which means that this mod has now messed up BF2 on my laptop. BF2 worked fine and well before I installed this mod.

I doubt it is punkbuster because it does not say anything about that when it ctd and I play as administrator because I have Vista and that is the way to play BF2 without the punkbuster problem. If anyone has any idea how to solve this problem and what it is, I would greatly appreciate it because it would be absurd if this mod f***ed up my computer and BF2.

maybe the configs got screwed (happens sometimes with bf2)
solution: reset settings to default or create a new account

maybe grafics settings need to be reevaluated
solution: empty the bf2 cache (search this forum for a how to)

or u got a broken pr installer

if worse comes to worse, you will have to reinstall bf2 (and pr)
