Wireless Network
I need some help with a wireless network im trying to set up. im trying to set up 2 computers with a traditional wired ethernet hookup, but i also want to be able to have a wireless signal so when someone has a laptop they can use it anywhere in the house. how would i be able to do this? can a wireless router split one connection into 2 or more wired connections and create a wireless signal or does it just support wireless. also do i just hook the router up to pretty much any internet connection for example a cable service provider?

Yes, wireless router is what you need, but router with built in ADSL modem.
If you maybe already have a wired router with ADSL modem you can set it to give internet to wireless router and in that case you can have that wireless router without built in modem. Wireless routers usually have 4 or more cable LAN connectors for wired connections and in the same time you can connect other (lot more) computers via wireless. |

If you use a wireless router, make sure you have the Wireless Zero Configuration Service turned on. Otherwise, your wireless devices won't connect. I had this service disabled in the name of memory conservation, and it took me awhile to figure out why my wireless laptop wouldn't work.
