Al basrah freeze

Hello all
I downloaded PR .7 on Friday and it's amazing, but I have a small problem on one map and/or server:

Whenever I join the 24/7 .7 insurgency server (running al basrah),everything loads fine, but after about three to ten minutes, I'll have a lag spike, the sound starts looping, and PR freezes. Most of the time I have to restart the computer manually after this, but one time I was able to exit the server when it froze. At the server selection screen I got a message telling me something about a server read error.
I don't know if it's just the server or Al basrah, but whatever it is it's making me mad as Basrah is my favorite map

try what is said in this one:
http://www.realitymod.com/forum/f81-...kup-0-7-a.html

otherwise check for those problems:
1. overheating
2. broken map/installer file
3. lower your settings b/c your system specs are not enuff for ultra high

So you're not having this problem on other maps? Have you tried? Have you tried another server running Al Bas?

Al basrah works fine in LAN mode, and it ran fine in .6, the last time I had problems with that map was in .4.
And I've never seen basrah on a different server.

I don't think it would be my graphic settings, they're all on low/medium, and other newer games like Crysis and Call of duty 4 run perfectly. Qwai is fine, Kashan is great, and fools road is lagless, but basrah is giving me problems.

I'll try a reinstall, but how do you know if your graphics card overheats?

What is graphics card overclocking and how do I disable it?

since you don't know about it - it prolly is not overclocked

overclocking is to increase performance by stressing the device to its limits - but that generally implies a better cooling than the default one - and is not a factory default

if you think your system is over heating, check for dust in the fans - or even whether the fans are working - you could always leave one side panel open (more air -> more cooling) and test if it still crashes

Angry

This is really starting to make me frusterated.

I reinstalled absolutely EVERYTHING, all of Bf2, patch 1.4 and PR .7, but the problem hasn't seemed to be fixed. I tried lowering my sound settings like recommended in another thread, and I'm scanning my pc for viruses as well.

Now I'll be able to play on Basrah 64 for about 10 minutes, then PR CTDs with no warning or even looping sound like before. I have no idea what the problem could be. What could be the most likely cause? An outside program, sound settings or what??

edit: I got a punkbuster message "there was an error reading from the server" too.

It may be a serverside problem if you run all other maps (Fools Road is bigger than Al Basrah and eats much more performance) lagless.
