If you upgrade your ram above 3 in vista, your PR will use more than 2 gigs.
I had 2 and it used 1.8 gigs. Then I put in another 2 gigs (I have vista 64) and the game now uses 2.3-2.4 gigs, and I don't have to worry at all about shutting down other programs in the background.
It also lets me alt-tab out to check my e-mail and do other things and I don't even notice BF2 is running.
It was noticeable with 2 gigs.

My Problem is that i cant run 64 bit Vista for now, i have an Apple MacBook Pro with BootCamp and there's no 64 bit drivers YET, lets see how it turns out. I'll definetly upgrade to 4GB. then i'll have around 3GB in Vista and full 4GB in Mac OS X Leopard

I say the more the merrier.I made the mistake of putting 4 gigs in a Vista 32 bit machine (32 bit recoginses 3.25 gigs of it).I can run BF2,check emails and some other stuff.
Of course my previous machine had a mere 512MB RAM so maybe it's just me

I upgraded from 2GB to 3GB under Windows Vista Ultimate 64 and things improved by a lot. After going from 3GB to 4GB nothing changed though. :/

I advise you to upgrade to 3GB since Vista eats 1GB of system RAM alone and for PR under Windows XP 2GB is needed to run properly.
