I also noticed it was unapparent on the maps with "normal" to low view distance. So by making view distance maxed out to 1000 m things that are up close get all fubar. I'll try the moniter refresh thingy.

Changing the refresh monitor settings to 60hz didn't make a difference for me.

I seem to be getting this problem on every map. I don't remember it being this bad on .6 either.

Z-buffer

Texture overlapping ("Z-fighting") is caused by insufficient resolution of the Z-buffer. Our DEVs stretch the poor bastard a lot by using long viewing distances; of course this limitation can be overcome for example by rendering stuff by circular "layers" from farthest to closest using whole Z-buffer for one layer at a time but that has to be done on the engine level...

Forcing the highest resolution of Z-buffer (I believe it's 24-bit tops) in the driver settings should help (if it's not in the Catalyst CC or NVidia CP, try RivaTuner or sth like that).

Interesting. I never saw that option, but I do now. It's "Force 24 Bit Z-Buffer Depth" for anyone wanting the exact name of the option... at least in Catalyst Control Center...

Gonna play some server on Kashan now and see if it helps

*edit*
I didn't notice much, if any, difference with that forced on... Hmmm

Nah mine are not messed up... I just got these black boxes on the ground sometimes... That because the Nvidia driver isnt ready for everything yet... Your 8800Utra got much more power than you are able to use at the moment... The nvidia drivers cant handle all these stuff of your 8800... The nvidia drivers are still buggy... But thats not because they dont know how to fix it or something like that... Thats because of the MS developer team... XP isnt for a 8800 (yes you can use it) but a 8800 is build for DX10... When you are using Vista its still buggy because Vista is bugged like hell (including DX10) But once MS released DX10.1 most of these problems will be solved because than nvidia can finally release a stable driver.

Anyway try this:

AA x4/x8
AF x8/x16

Most graphical problems should be solved than...

Set everything on high/medium put AA of BF2 down... Set the resolution to 1024x786
