I`ve read through a lot of threads on VOIP and have seen people with similar problems but no solution.
i got Gigabyte 965P-S3 with Realtek High Definition Audio, and i can't enable mic boost in game ![]() i guess problem is in stupid Realtek drivers for XP, cuz Recording controls are grayed out and bf2 uses recording controls instead of stupid Realteks playback Front Pink In mic channel. ![]() Realteks Vista drivers works just fine, mic controls works on playback and recording panel, but i can't run BF2: PR on Vista 64bit, so i'm using XP 32bit. ---------------------------- EDITED: i found a simple solution of all that. ![]() |

Re: BOOST MIC GAIN in BF2: PR problem on Gigabyte 965P with Realtek Hi-def soundcard?
same problem but I have SigmaTel High Definition Audio Codec, but I don't have any idea how to update it or change it. Can't select Boost Mic in Vista, there's not an enable-option in my sound options.

Re: BOOST MIC GAIN in BF2: PR problem on Gigabyte 965P with Realtek Hi-def soundcard?
Im having this exact same problem. My "Mic Boost Gain" butten in the audio options is greyed out just like yours, and I cannot turn it on no matter what I do. Im able to talk using VOIP in-game, but my mic volume is a bit too low. My squad is able to hear me, but only if there is no background noise. The boost is turned on in windows volume control, the volume is on max and the mic works perfectly. Teamspeak and Ventrilo work perfectly and the volume is fine, so its just BF2. I think it has something to do with the fact that im using intregated sound instead of a sound card. I have another computer with a Sound Blaster sound card and im able to turn the boost on in BF2. Is there any way for me to turn on the mic boost using intregated sound?

Re: BOOST MIC GAIN in BF2: PR problem on Gigabyte 965P with Realtek Hi-def soundcard?
I've been testing Vista BF2, once that is ok, i will get PR properly setup, stay tuned for any fixes i find for sound and X-Fi issues.
For Vista (64bit) i have seen a similar problem with the greyed out mic gain options. (Read #2 First) What i did:- #1 - While i initially got the "_AUDIOSETTINGS" error, afterwards i was able to set X-Fi - Quit out of BF2 - Latest Vista X-Fi Drivers / Alchemy / Console on Creative XTreme Gamer F4tal1ty. - On Vista, go to controlpanel -> Hardware&Sound -> Sound -> Recording -> Properties - And enable the +20db Boost - Then fire up BF2 again. It is still greyed out in Vista, but i can hear myself at least on the mic test, following the enabling of this option. #2 - The REAL solution is to up the LEVELS entry on the vista mic properties to approx 50%, you still get no mic boost option in BF2 but the quality and volume is perfect. I leave all the application exclusivity settings set to default (on) in vista. ( I just had to fix this eh? I am the PR Comms obsessed guy after all |
