Got new GFX card and now i cant even join games!

Hi,

I have played PR 0.5 fine since it came out, i recently bought an x1950 pro 512mb gfx card to help boost things up. I installed a new 500w Power suply too.

Thing is now i cant connect to any maps, the maps either partially load or as im about to enter the maps the game crashes to desktop?

I have tried both ATIs latest drivers and the omega drivers can anyone help me

Does this happen with other mods or vBF2, i.e. is it just PR?

Have you tried re-installing BF2 & PR? and i mean a good clean install.

need to delete your cache.

Start/MyDocuments and delete the Battlefield2 folder

Also, make sure you remove existing video drivers, use drivercleanerpro to remove all ATI drivers or Nvidia ones if that was the last card, THEN RESET YOUR MACHINE and then install the latest x1950pro drivers (specific ati tweaked drivers, currently at v7.4) THEN RESET, then setup everything again after retrieving your account by username, like setting connection to "256k) and then video/audio settings

try changing the gfx settings, like put everything on medium and see if it works...

thanks for all the replys, im gonna give it all a go havent really tried anything yet so i've nothing to loose......

hey ninja i have a friend (former clanmate) in igi called Lt. Gruber he joined you guys when our old clan fell through.....

well i'll report back with what happens, again thanks for the replys i cant wait to gte playing this awesome mod again!

tommy if it doesnt work after i clean the drivers out and delete the cash etc. then i'll try doing that

top celebrate i joined the igi server for some action!

In fact i was on your side, you were the commander and i was in Headshot.nls squad, enjoyed it. I'll be back for more i can safely say!

It was nice to see a better framerate and more crisp visuals than im used to, made the immersion that bit more deeper, great stuff! cheers lads

Its best to change one thing at a time, so you can check if one thing works before installing another.

I found the same thing when changing from my last x800gto2 to my present x1950pro 256meg card. That's why I posted what works!

Sometimes you can get problems from time to time and that cache deletion trick does the trick. Anything worse than that and you aare uninstalling/clearing registry/reinstalling and worse still, having to obtain a new BF2 image or disc!

Hey guys! Yeah my project reality or BF2 isnt working for some reason, when open PR it will load and i will log in, it will say connecting to account server and it will stay like that for ever or it is frozen. Is it something wrong with the disk? if it is how do i get PR into EA Games? I need my PR!!!!!!!! Lol. Any suggestions?
