Yo, PR is just closing whenever I try join a multiplayer server.
It just closes to desktop with no error message or anything, the weird thing is that I can create an offline server myself and join the map no problem... Any ideas? PS this is a brand new gaming rig and i've transfered PR via an external USB straight onto it I used to run this on my Vista laptop (transfered onto an XP operating system now) System specs: ATI Radeon HD4850 1gb AMD PHENOM II X2 545 3.00ghz 4gigs of ram Windows xp |

There might be some complication trying to transfer a Vista-installed program to XP. If you have the opportunity try to make a fresh install of PR on your XP machine.
Also you could try to see if your firewall is trying to block the program?? I'm just guessing here though. |

Hi thanks for the reply, tried turning off firewall - no joy
I also did a full re-install of BF2 from disk onto system, now i have the same problem with that... i double click on the bf2 icon to start it and it gets the black loading screen for like 3 seconds, then crashess to desktop immediatley with no error message or anything... This is seriously doing my head in, this is a brand new system and all I wanna do is get back onto PR Any other help would be very welcome

Well since i couldn't enter the game at all - no
However i searched computer for all BF2 related files and deleted, then reinstalled and bf2 opens fine... i think it may have been the external HD i had left plugged in by accident conflicting with the install Installing patches/PR right now, hope this works. Will update if it does |

Yeah all is working now, must have been moving vista installed version straight onto XP creating issues.
Also I left external HD left plugged in after installing bf2 again for the first time which probably conflicted with the installation causing more problems. In short I am an idiot |
