Default Loading problem

Hi all,

I have a problem.. Everytime I join a server, loading the map takes about 15 min, and verifying client data takes +-10 min. And after the map is loaded, I mostly get kicked, because I lost my connection to the server or pb heartbeat/handshaking stopped.

I've got this problem since pr 9.0. I'm playing pr for years now, and the normal bf2 too (without problems).

My computer:
Intel Pentium 4 CPU 3.20GHz
Nvidia GeForce 6600 512mb
1gb ram
Windows XP

Default Re: Loading problem

loading is the process where the computer reads data from the hard drive to the RAM

If there is already alot of data in the acutal hardware RAM, windows will start using virtual RAM (VRAM)
VRAM is a dedicated swap file called "pagefile" which is usually located on the hard drive

here's the problem: you seem to be running low on RAM - instead of shoving data into the RAM it just puts it back on the HDD - furthermore if the pagefile size is chosen too small, too, it will start optimizations and eventually dump stuff it just loaded

solution: increase your RAM by either increasing the pagefile
or even better: buy additional RAM to build into your pc
you can also lower your game video settings to decrease RAM sized used by PR
shutting down unneeded programs helps free up some RAM as well

"Hello, IT! ... Yes, have you tried turning it on and off again?"

Thank you for your reply. If I go to my settings, and look at my C drive, I see: 1536-3072mb. But I got a second drive (D), this drive is set to 0mb. Can I use the D drive too?
