Hi, I've been playing PR since .87 almost flawlessly as far as performance goes... Until the last update. I currently have my video settings set to a mix of medium/high with AA set to 4x and the game is running great. For some odd reason though (and it doesn't happen all the time - but mostly) whenever larger helicopters like the blackhawk, chinook or the gunship are flying around my framerate plummets. Not everywhere.. but whenever the helicopter is in my FOV, even if it's all the way across the map! It all goes back to normal a few seconds after the chopper is destroyed.
I've tried adjusting my settings and turning on and off the AA but it doesn't seem to fix the problem. Any suggestions? |

that is quite interresting to know its the helicopters - post it here too plz (use the template though!!!)
http://www.realitymod.com/forum/f10-...-template.html it has probably something to do with LOD (level of detail) - lowering geometry might help TweakGuides.com - Battlefield 2 Tweak Guide |

I did find out what the problem was. Something with the level of detail as you said - it needs to be on high. Also, the british jeep sometimes causes a huge amount of framelag when the dynamic lighting or shadows or something don't render on it properly (it looks perfectly lit up like it's out in the open). After a while, it seems to correct itself.
