Default PR closes seconds after starting/Fixed!

Well the title says it all. Basically what happens in I double click the PR icon to start it, then the PR logo pops up, then shortly after the BF2 does too.

Then the screen goes black, and goes straight back to my desktop and remains there.

I've tried uninstalling all BF2/PR components, but still does the same thing.

side notes; I've never had problems with BF2 (Now it doesn't work at all by itself after installing PR).

Any additional help would be great.

Have you tried running it as administrator? I received a PR.exe has stopped working so i navigated to the exe and checked the box that says to run as administrator and it took off.

thats all the help i can be at this point.

good luck

Well, when i first installed PR, and tried to run it, i got the 'This program has stopped working', then tried running as Admin, and didn't get the error message and it started to run, so i thought it had worked.

Then hey-pretso, turns out it still didn't work.

This is just a guess as you have provided very little info other than 'Vista'.
Compatibility mode to xp and run as admin not set in desktop shortcut on Vista PCs
Right click shortcut
choose 'properties' from bottom of list
Click on the Compatibility 'tab'(along the top of the window)
Check 'run as admin' box, select WINDOWS XP(service pack 2

When looking for answers please follow these simple steps.

#1 : Read the red stickys First.
New PR problems are rare so most answers can be found here.

#2. Use the search feature on PRs web site or GOOGLE IT!. Often the

quickest way to find what your looking for when you have an error message.

#3. Please remember to include your basic PC info in your post

You have spent some time trying to help yourself, but your ready to ask for help:

Please include your basic PC info in your post :
Operating system = XP, Vista etc.
systems specks = cpu/speed, ram installed, video card/video ram on card, type of monitor
network setup = cable, 4 port 10/100/1000 d- link gamers lounge/ wired connection.
And a brief history before and after problem started.
Please describe when your CTD or problem hits and
what you have already tried.
The more info you can give the better your chance of getting a quick answer back.
You don't have to write a book,
but your basic PC info is needed to help you.

Good luck

I've fixed it! 24 hours of trying to figure out why it wasn't working and i've done it..

It was the BF2 Patch, because i had only recently installed BF2, i forgot to patch. So i downloaded the 1.5 patch and tried to install and it gave me the message 'There is already a newer version installed'. So i thought i already had it.

An hour ago, my friend told me i needed to have the 1.41 patch in order for the 1.5 patch to work.

Now i have them both installed, and PR work perfectly.

I hope this helps anyone else who had the same problem as me.
