Angry constant, long lasting connection problem

Hi all,

I searched in the Forums for this but I only found this her which does not have much to do with my problem.

http://www.realitymod.com/forum/f26-...ly-solved.html

I have irregular connection problems which do not disconnect me. It is just like I have really really bad lag but I also get the message "connection problems". I can still hear my squad talk but cannot answer, also the map and no other in-game popup works.

When I hit esc and check the server list I only have a limited server list diversifying from a server number of approx. 6 to 27 or so. The weird thing is that all of these server either have the same ping or the ping 0. This does not change when I refesh the list.

Restarting the game does normally not help either. My guess would be that it has something to do with the Login server. But since it only effects me that cannot be.

Ok I think that´s it. I hope someone can help me or has the problem himself.

hey

well i would guess its a problem with your internet connection or maybea firewall/port problem.

does this/or simular things also happen with vbf2/other bf2 mods/other games?

If it would be a firewall or a port problem I would have it everytime though. I sometimes have it without changing anything in between.

Can´t be the internet connection as well because Browser works fine.

I just checked Bf2 same Problem here. It only shows me about 100 servers and most of them with ping 0 or the same or in the 1000-3000 area.

Try a vbf2 singleplayer game and look if you still got lagg.
When you still got lagg you got to look if you cpu isn't overloaded, or if your hardware is good enough for the minimum settings.

Try to update punkbuster with pbsetup.

Nope not using W-lan

Well Cheeseze if my hardware would not be good enough for the game I would have never been able to play the game.

If it would be a punkbuster Problem I would definately be kicked from the server though.

I have to disconnect manually though when i have this in game.

No one ever heard of anything like this happening to somebody????

Ok I think I found the source of the Problem.

It has something to do with our telefon connection. It is connected with the internet and therefore I get this horrible lag when someone is on the phone.

I just don´t get it that punkbuster doesnot kick me then because of my "then must be" uber high ping.

Thanks for ur support

Is it ADSL? Get yourself an ADSL filter from your ISP, also give them a call, and explain your probs/issue.

Sounds like you have a VOIP phone..

Tell whoever looks after that in your house to allocate it as little bandwidth as possible.. Should sort you out!

Jep got one. How do you change the bandwidth for the phone then? Is it a router setting?
