First things ... to put your file association back to what it was ...
Reset file associations in XP - Cyberwalker.com I have a thought ... what resolution are you trying to run PR in ? Do this .... right click your pr shortcut and choose properties. Then in the target text box , copy and paste the following ... "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe" +fullscreen 0 +szx 1024 +szy 768 and try joining a server then. |

The 256 file should be in your pr folder AND your BF2 folder. Its just the splash screen. One is BF2s and one is ours. The log file entries refer to the fact that when you launch PR that our splash screen replaces the bf2 one so that you see it at launch , and then it puts it back the way it was, so that if you launch vanilla BF2 you get the BF2 splash screen. Nothing sinister or startling Your resolution is correct so thats not the problem. I am wondering what it might be now to be honest ... its definitely a bf2 problem ... but its puzzling that bf2 plays normally. That VisualC++ runtime error is unfortunately one that has plagued many games ... it is possible that its an out of memory issue .. and this would explain why it happens with PR and not BF2 ... because our maps use way more memory. Try increasing your virtual memory to 4GB, then if that doesn't work ... try and let windows manage it. How much disk space do you have on your C drive ?

This has happened since i patched to 1.5 I have loads of disk space From what i remember when i had 0.86 i patched to 1.5 then installed 0.87 and everything has been fubar since then i have tried installing 0.86 but thers no servers to see if its a memory thing . I think either my directorys fubar or ive not enough memory or but the 1 thing doin my fckin head in is why did you have to make 0.87 i was happy blowing stuff up on 0.86. Anyway i have my royal navy tests next week and if i pass i dont need to worry about that anymore i wil be able to blow stuff up for real , first on the list is this computer Thanks for the help though if you think of anything else let me know or you could show me your folders and directory settings so i can see if mine match
