Project Reality v0.87 Installation Guide

Installation timeline

1. Install BF2
   -----------------
   BF2:SF Expansion | --- If you have BF2:SF, here is where it should be installed.
   ----------------
2. Install Battlefield 2 v1.41
3. Install Battlefield 2 v1.5
4. Install the latest PR Build (Currently: v0.874)

Section 1: INSTALLATION GUIDE

*NOTE*: There are sometimes problems encountered if you install into a different path from the default install path dictated by the BF2 and PR installers. For ease of use, we recommend installing BOTH BF2 and the PR install into the default paths denoted in each installer.


1. Ensure that you have Battlefield 2 v1.5 installed correctly.

If you have PR v0.860 already installed:

2a. Download the Project Reality v0.874 Patch Installer from your preferred URL/torrent from the realitymod.com Downloads Page.

3a. Run the PATCH installer, following the on-screen prompts to accept the licence agreement and path of install. The install directory should automatically be selected. If for some reason it isn't, you need to install to your root Battlefield 2 directory.
For example:
C:\Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield 2
If you do not have .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 already installed, the installer will automatically install it for you.

If you do not have PR v0.860 already installed:

2b. Download the TWO seperate Project Reality v0.874 Client Installers from your preferred URL/torrent from the realitymod.com Downloads Page
The two installers are listed as CORE and LEVELS.

3b. Run the CORE installer, following the on-screen prompts to accept the licence agreement and path of install. The install directory should automatically be selected. If for some reason it isn't, you need to install to your root Battlefield 2 directory.
For example:
C:\Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield 2
If you do not have .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 already installed, the installer will automatically install it for you.

Run the LEVELS installer, following the on-screen prompts to accept the licence agreement and path of install. The install directory should automatically be selected. If for some reason it isn't, you need to install to your root Battlefield 2 directory.
For example:
C:\Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield 2

4. It is recommended that you restart your system after you install/uninstall programs to ensure all installed components, files and registry entries are correctly installed or removed.

Section 2: SOUND AND PROJECT REALITY

In order to have the best possible experience with Project Reality it is very important that you enable EAX in your BF2 sound options.

Just about any onboard and aftermarket sound cards support some version of EAX and your PR experience will be greatly enhanced by enabling EAX support.

Section 3: PROJECT REALITY SINGLE PLAYER

The Single Player element of the Project Reality mod (known as PRSP) is not incorporated within the mod's multiplayer files. Project Reality is primarily a multiplayer game, singleplayer is an addon that you have to download and install seperately.

Section 4: PROJECT REALITY WIKI GUIDE

We are always adding the new features and content to our Project Reality Wiki Guide. When you first install the mod, you will find that there are 2 shortcuts auto-installed to your desktop to the Project Reality Guide *Currently offline, and also the 'Project Reality Manual' Adobe PDF file. We strongly encourage all new players to have a read through the information. It can be difficult to fully enjoy PR before understanding at least the core basics of how the mod plays.
