When asking for help,
please remember to post your:
Operating System (OS)
systems specs (MoBo, GFX, Audio, generally hardware),
network setup (router-model, direct connection, DSL, 36k-modem, how many clients)
And a brief history before and after problem started. (Did you change anything? new drivers, new Anti-Vir...)
Please describe as precise as possible when your problem hits and
what you have already tried.
what you mean by "crash" (CTD, reboot, error sound, freez or bluescreen/BSOD)

does regular bf2 work without problems?
maybe your bf2.exe is corrupted, try using this one (memorypatch) found here: http://www.realitymod.com/forum/f27-...op-issues.html

Don't forget just reinstalling doesn't delete your BF2 preference folder (the BF2 folder inside your 'Documents' folder), so if you have corrupt preferences before uninstalling, you will still have them after UNLESS you delete them manually.
Before you uninstall/reinstall.
Backup your BF2 folder that's inside your documents folder. Once you have a backup delete the original from your documents folder.
Try starting PR from your new PR shortcut
a new default folder is created
link to your online account.
If all goes well (CTD gone) all you have to do to get your custom settings back is copy your 'control' file from your backup to the new profile folder.
path:
C:\Users\your user name here\Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\0002
note: you may not have a 0002 folder so use 0001
Good luck
