Default Freezing every 30 seconds for about 5 seconds

So yeah, Hi guys again. This is the reason why I've been away. So what happens, is that I freeze for about 5 seconds every 30 seconds or so (Or it seems when anyone joins) I've really tried everything already and thats why I gave up a long time ago and forgot about PR.

I hoped the new update would do something, but it hasen't. So now, I'm actually making a support thread.

System:
AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3800+ 2.41 GHz, 2 GV of RAM.
Realtek headset (I really think this is the problem, as my old headset broke, I had to get a new one..and then the problem cropped up on the same day)
Ask for more, I don't really know this stuff that well :s

Also to take note:
My PR Video settings keep restarting to default, even though I set them. I don't know if this would help.

______
I have not reinstalled BF2 and, it will be a huge Pain to do it..so, I want to avoid that possiblity.

Thankyou for your time.

You might have fried your cpu when your old one broke. Sounds like an over heat problem for sure.

Considering that my Headset broke about January and that all other games (Arma1 and 2 included) work fine. I don't think it is a overheat problem.

Doesn't sound like an overheating problem unless you are getting artifacts on the screen as well. What are the rest of your specs? OS? GPU? I don't think your sound or headset is your problem it could be allot of things, You can try to find your BF2 settings in my documents there should be a cfg file and if its set to read only or its protected the game might not be able to save the cfg.

Also download a virus scan, Hijackthis, and Spybot search and destroy and scan your PC for spyware first, than get a virus scan, after all that run hijackthis to make sure allot of crap isn't starting up with your pc. You might have multiple problems with your pc but don't assume one thing is causing everything.

Its working now, but the reason was My Profile.

Turns out, the video settings not saving was the problem, I tried to manual edit it in notepad from the videos ettings and it did not load, saying it was corrupted. So, I deleted and retrieved my account, which is basicly reseting it and now it works!.

Its quite strange.
