That would be because we're on 1.5 now and the download on the original post is for 1.41? This fix is obsolete anyway since BF2 1.5 includes it anyway.

I'm still getting the 'memory.dll: all alloc attempts failed for size' error whenever I try to play on the larger maps (eg. Qinling or Kashan). I've tried deleting the cache and that doesn't work. I've also changed my pagefile size to 1.5x that of my RAM. I haven't downloaded the modified BF2.exe because I'm running patch 1.5.

My Specs:
System Manufacturer: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd.
System Model: EP45-UD3
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E8400 @ 3.00GHz (2 CPUs)
Memory: 3326MB RAM
Page File: 663MB used, 7489MB available

Card name: ATI Radeon HD 4800 Series
Display Memory: 512.0 MB

EDIT: I found that for some reason closing Xfire stopped this problem.

Ok, I have read a good bit of this thread and I still can not get my BF2 to work. When I mount the image and placed the new BF2.exe in the folder and renamed the old exe to BF2.old and placed in a new folder it doesnt work. I have the downloadable version, no cd.

I get a flicker on my monitor like the game is loading and then back to desktop.

Im running Windows Vista Home Premium 64bit
My computer specs are below

Quad Core Intel 3.0 gig
8 gig of memory
Nvidia QTX 295
Sound Blaster 24 Extreme
Liquid Cooled
1000 watt power supply

I hope somebody knows a fix, cuz I am burned out on the "Play for 10 min then crash" experience I have been dealing with. Thank you in advance
