OK, I've read through most of this thread and don't see my issue. Loaded 1.5 patch and both parts of PR 0.9. Running pr.exe gives splash screen then CTD, no error message. Updated PR.EXE startup shortcut to add: XPSP2 compatibility mode, start as administrator, correct paths, and startup parms for fullscreen 800x600. Cleared BF2 cache files. Startup now improving: splash screen then black 800x600 window showing BF2 v1.5 loading, but then I get some sort of DirectX debug crash screen:

/// Start window

Debug assertion failed!

Version: 1.5.3153-802.0 Build date:2009-8-20 18:8
Module: RendDX9
File:
C:\dice\Projects\BF2Branches\Patch_1_50\Code\BF2\R endDX9\RendDX9Draw.cpp
Line:200

Text: Present returned unknown error. n/a

Current confile:

/// End window

Looks like I'm almost there, so any help appreciated!

Hello there PR Community.

My clan has a Sunday PR event so i bought Bf2 over Steam
and tried to install PR v9.0

So at the first part comes an Error saying Couldn't install staticobject_client
and
at the second part comes an Error saying Couldn't install levels\Jabal

So I got the staticobject_client from my bf2 folder and made a zip folder called staticobject_client.zip in the folder objects where the zip folder staticobject_server.zip is located so it tought it would be right.

So now i got the problem i dont have the map Jabal so I tought to just evade playing on this map.

But when I join a server it loads up to 7% and directly crashes and sends me back to Desktop without an Error message.

Iam using Battlefield 2 v1.5 Steam version

My System specs are:

Manufacturer:
MEDION

Processor:
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T6500 @ 2.10GHz (2 CPUs), ~2.1GHz

Video Card:
NVIDIA GeForce G210M

Monitor:
PnP-Monitor (Standard)

Sound Card:
Soundbox / Headset (IDT High Definition Audio CODEC)

Someone's help is much appreciated, because I spended like 4 hours trying to solve this problem and right now it really pisses me off.
I have the same problem as Minipaco. I also run PR as administrator, but it still doesn't work. I have played with the solutions and the screen refresh rates. Still didn't work.

Is my target/Start-in a problem?

Target: "C:\Program Files (x86)\EA Games\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe" +modPath mods/pr +menu 1 +fullscreen 1"

Start In: "C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr"

I am running pr with compatibility mode -- Windows XP SP2. Even tried disabling visual themes.
I also checked my .net frames etc. Also uninstalled, re-installed bf2 and pr but always to the Program Files (x86). Should I try installing it to just Program Files or does it matter?

I bought BF2 the other day and installed project reality too. But I'm not sure if this is right. I run Project reality and BF2 pops up. Is that correct or is it suppose to run it as Project Reality only?

Please if you have any other solutions, please reply back.

Hi, I have Vista ultimate 64 bit, my gear is Intel i3 530 CPU, 4 GB RAM, ATI Radeon HD5670 VGA card, but that probbably does not matter, because i'm having VoIP issues.

The main issue is that it doesn't work. I can't speak my self, neither can I hear anyone else. It started working at one moment, but as soon as I changed team, I lost it again.

I'm connected trough a local area network with a Linux server with firewalls and stuff, I asked admin to open folllowing ports: 29900, 16567 (both TCP and UDP), which he did, I can connect to servers and play the game, yet - no voip, and it really SUCKS ASS. Pls help.

EDIT: Solved

Exclamation Re: Windows Vista Users - Troubleshooting Guide for PR

Hello, I recently downloaded pr version .91 and the game starts like this. I double click the icon for pr and it starts up. The screen flickers a bit, shows the cursor for pr like its about to start, and then crashes to the desktop. This is the exact same thing that happened with .87 and so on. It just dosent make sense to me and it sucks that I havent been able to play this awesome mod since .87 came out. And I know I can't start it from the community part in bf2 with custom games cuz it just says on the pr main that you need to start it from pr.exe not bf2.exe or something like that. So, if anyone can help me fix this I have windows vista and I think its 64 bit so thanks.

Installed BF2, 1.41, 1.50 - tested and it worked.
Then restarted PC.
But not able to launch "pr_0917_full_part1of2_setup.exe", even though tried several "launch-methods" like:
-Run as admin
-Compatilitymode of XP2
...tried this several times, waited about 30mins each time for the application to start, but no luck. Restarted between each try.

Anyone able to help me?
