I just read the last 6 pages and still couldnt find a solution for my connection problem.
I tried everything; disabling VoIP, disabling EAX, reinstalling BF2, reinstalling windows (not because of connection problems but to prevent CTDs because of high texture settings; btw I got those connection problems since I reinstalled windows (Win7 Ultimate x64)), disabling my firewall, restarting my router... I don't even remember all techniques I tried to regain a stable connection to PR servers.
So I'm sitting here for 5 hours (only today) and still didnt find a solution.
Hopefully theres someone who has had those problems too, fixed them and could maybe post the solution.

Oh, I'm sorry, I thought it would be obvious in my last post.
When I join a server I can play for about 3 minutes and then I keep getting disconnects and return to the server list.

What are your hardware specs? For me I had the same issue under XP and my Dualcore AMD... I could fix the issue with the AMD DualCore optimizer, maybe there is such a tool for your specs that may help?
Or try to attach the BF2/PR proccess only to one Core...

Actually I dont know what the cores have to do with the internet connection but anyways my specs;
Intel Core i5 750
Geforce GTX 285
4GB DDR3

And I tried running it with only 1 Core but it didnt change anything.

I just reinstalled Win7 32-Bit and I am currently installing BF2/PR...

EDIT: Still doesnt work... btw its not a PR only related problem. I checked BF2 and I got disconnected, too.

have you tried manually updating punkbuster? its known to cause random problem
http://www.realitymod.com/forum/f27-...ions-here.html

if you have multiple network interfaces: try disabling unused network adapters (bios, device manager), try using a different network adapter (plug the cable into another slot)

Yes, I updated my punkbuster several times with the pbsetup.exe and also reinstalled it with the pbsvc.exe.

Acutally I only have one slot on the mainboard and two slots in the wall. When I change the slot at the outside box, I dont even get a connection to the internet via browser.

How could I disable BIOS?

since you have only got 1 network adapter on your pc you do not need to disable it - the two in the wall should not be touched

do not disable the BIOS - i suggested to disable the onboard network adapter in the bios (if you have multiples on your pc) - if you do not know how to disable that in the bios you shouldn't try to ... alot of things can be messed up there

ok, so you are directly connecting to the internet? no router?
the problem might be that your internet connection service is not getting enough cycle times on the cpu and bf2 eats up all the ressources - you will lose the connection be cause the internet service cant keep up

maybe you can have a friend lend you a router to test if it works better with one
also its much more secure to have your network hidden behind NAT instead of exposing the pc directly

Oh, okay I think I misunderstood the BIOS thing.

I do have a router and it worked perfectly since one week ago after I updated Win7 from x86 to x64 so I downgraded it to 32-Bit again in hope to fix that problem but it didnt work.

Windows 7 tells me via the network map that I wouldnt get a connection from the gateway to the internet and it cant fix it but I can enter the internet as you can see.

i would suggest that solving the router problem will solve the bf2 connection issue

What's your router model/brand?
try asigning a fixed IP - instead of using random IP by DHCP
are you using some kind of proxy?

edit: please open up a seperate thread for that router fixing purpose
