Hi, lately I've deleted the cache folder from my documents/Battlefield 2 and My Documents/Battlefield2/mods/bf2/cache because all deployables were black. I didn't run the shader compilation through BF2 but through PR and after that the PR map loading process started lagging when loading textures and verifying client data, textures and client data loaded twice as long as the rest and after I quitted the game it still lagged as hell |(in-game it lagged too). The thing is, I have a few other mods and they don't lag like that, even BF3 or A2CO doesn't lag as hard.My question is what can I do to prevent that? Here are my computer specs:
AMD Athlon X4 640 3.0 GHZ Nvidia GTS250 (GIGABYTE) 2x 2GB Kingston RAM Win7 x64 Thanks in advance! |

My best guess,
Join a server and let your shaders rebuild. Then you need to defragment your hard drive. The BF2 shaders are big files and are being placed in small empty areas on your drive, but in many fragments. |
