Game crashes to desktop while loading

Alright so i have bf2 installed and updated to 1.41 i have pr installed and updated to .75. I can open the game and its all good i can see servers and everything so i find a server i like. click it and it starts to load. Now around the 25-50% mark it just crashes to desktop no errors no lag no artifacting on screen absolutely nothing.

My system specs should be good enough:

asus p5n-e sli
intel core 2 duo 3.0 ghz
palit 9600gt
500 gb harddrive
ocz 700 watt power supply
and the antec 900 case (4 fans)


If anyone has any comments/ suggestions they would be highly appreciated

Edit your target line so it says +fullscreen 0.

When you crash it should show an error.

I just changed it and still no error, it just keeps crashing.

Have you modded BF2 or PR at all, or are they both clean installs?

Start up a game again, look at the loading bar, it tells you what it's currently loading (Objects, etc), post again with what it crashes at.

It is a clean install on both, it is midway through the objects when it crashes.

Have you downloaded both core and levels?

If you did, you might have downloaded a corrupted file. Try to download again from a differenc source

ook i will re download the core and levels versions. I used the torrent one before so other people might wanna watch out.

I recommend File Front, it's much better than most (if not all) other file hosting sites. You'll get pretty fast speeds from FF.

Hm i've also had similer problems. PR does not like it when I run full graphics 4x AA on the training mod version of kashan desert.

I've just started to have this problem as of today... well... actually it has happened intermitantly in the past, but usually after long runs of playing and only often enough to write it off as a Vista/BF2 software problem that was usually resolved with a simple restart.

But, as of about 2 hours ago, I can't get into a server for more than a few seconds before the CTD.

So far I've done the following with no avail:
-Reinstalled BF2 1.41 patch
-checked PunkBuster via PBSVC.exe test (no errors)
-Reinstalled the PR update (patch)
-Used a different BF2 login account

None of which have solved the problem...

I'm currently re-downloading the PR_Core (full) and PR-Levels files with the intention of reinstalling both and getting my PR fix for the night.

My system specs are below, but my system rarely runs above 75% load when running PR in the past and is running fine otherwise, so I'm hesitant to blame hardware.

Any idea on what else I can do to fix the problem?

SYSTEM SPECS
AMD X2 4800 Dual Core 2.4Ghz
GeForce 7800 GTX 256MB
4GB RAM (windows only reports 2.75GB due to 32 bit file system)
Standard operating temp for Processor is 28*C and system normally idles at ~50-75% while running PR/BF2.
