None of the things posted work. Still get the good old connection lost whenever I am trying to lead a squad. Thanks to the admins for deleting my thread about it as well. PR!!!

I can confirm that this technique works for me. I found it out on my own as I was sort of sick of the periodic disconnects I received (and still do) every 20 to 40 minutes. Usually just hitting the ESC key every 10 minutes or so does the trick as I've never actually tried doing this the moment the connection problem occurred. Although sometimes it's easy to forget the need to press the ESC key until it becomes too late.

Not sure what the issue is truly, I can stay online with just about any other game indefinitely with the exception of BF2. If you ask me it's just another reason why BF2 just flat out sucks (Thank god for PR right?)

Re: Your Connection To The Server Has Been Lost

The problem for me is definitely VoiP. When i turn it off, it works. My problem is that when i join a pretty full game, after it loads, it disconnects. When i turned voip off it worked fine.

This is definitely a .7 issue too because this NEVER happened before and i've been playing PR since the beginning.

No it's not directly 0.7 issue. When server gets more populated the VOIP traffic gets more delayed and thus recognized as DoS attack by some routers/firewalls. 0.7 can be more demanding for servers, but that's not the actual problem. It happens also in vBF2.

I switched off my router firewall and no "there is a problem with your connection" whatsoever since (after map loading but other connection problems are whole other issue).

What other firewalls are you using in place? Switching off a router firewall seems pretty serious IMO.

And for me, this never happened EVER before .7 and I've been playing bf2 (and pr) since the beginning. Just the facts in my case. Thanks though.

I know someone that has fixed their constant disconnects by completely reinstalling PR.

I'm using Avast and Windows firewall and no problem with that. Reason for switching off whole firewall was that I'm using shared connection and the router isn't mine. Maybe there is a way to open some ports or some other configuration, it should depend on your router.

Of course there can be other reasons for disconnection problems, but the problem described before is definitely caused by VoIP and firewall interaction. It doesn't occur on all game servers because some server configurations use separate VoIP server and therefore main server strain doesn't interfere VoIP traffic.
