No it happens on all maps, maybe some maps more than others.
I'm quite sure it's sound related somehow but it really needs more digging... |

Well, I turned video settings down (Anti Aliasing x8 to x2) and haven't got any freezing or BSDs since. Maybe it will fix this I'll let you know if it doesn't...
Update: Changing video settings didn't bring any relief, but trying slightly underclocked CPU seems to work. Let's see how it goes... |

the only effect by underclock your CPU is getting down the temp... Probably everyones prozessor getting to hot...

I still can't fully agree because my CPU is around 25-28 °C at idle and 33-36 °C at load according to MB. Nevertheless BF2 has always been picky about overclocking. When I usually can run everything else rocksolid @ 2.6 GHz (standard is 2.0 GHz) vBF2 has never managed to do that for long. Maybe PR is even more demanding and can't accept overclocking much. But have to test this more thoroughly to see if this really is the case.
Update: It's been hours of playing and none freezing so far. Some smool twiching but that's all. Would be good if someone could try this and confirm if it helps. Update 2: Well, underclocking didn't solve anything. It's just now either BSD if VoIP is on or CTD if VoIP is off instantly without any freezing... Definitely some serios bug in sound environment, either in PR or in BF2 engine itself (wonder why that doesn't sound very unusual...). Update 3: I had similar BSD just few moments ago watching a movie (one of Star Wars ; ) when the voice got out ot sync, so I guess my freezing problem isn't just PR or BF2 related. Now I'm suspecting fault in soundcard (mine particular, design of X-Fi or drivers). BTW anyone having this freezing problem using XP 64-bit version? |

Got finally my VoIP problems solved (firewall) and now I get just freezing without BSD or CTD. Freezing can usually be solved by cycling between desktop and game but it's still annoying, and sometimes will cause server disconnection.

I got some information about freezing error while I was playing FH2. It has similar freezing problems than PR. Usually there is exactly same kind of freezing but today just at the moment round was finished there came one, this time with error message:
"BF2 Memory Error memory.dll: chunkPools::free fails, should not come here" I believe that both mods are using Bugfields engine in a way it can't handle and result is what we have here. Solving reason for not everyone having this problem would need further research. |

I started freezing when I turned my FSB from 230 to 250MHz (because of new PC4000 memory kit), it happened to me on FH2 and PR, including single player. The problem continued when I increased the Vcore value & stopped when I got back to 230MHz FSB.

Same problem here. The sound starts to loop and the graphics freezes. No other way out than to reset PC. My guess is that it has something to do with the SB-X-FI cards.
Some pc specs. WIN XP 64 bit pro AMD Athlon 64 3200+ KN8 SLI motherboard 3 GB of RAM Nvidia Gforce 8800 GTS, 620 MB Creative SB X-FI gamer All suggestions welcome... Tonight my pc froze 3 times while playing PR. |

I may have found solution to this problem. It's not sure but haven't got any freezing within few hours in FH2. Seems like it's not mods fault, it is caused by X-Fi driver.
I removed newest drivers and installed those which came with installation CD (there was a recommendation at some forum to use old drivers rather than latest on XP 64-bit). Have to still do more testing to make sure if it stays that way, I hope this made the trick. Update: Still no freezing what so ever after second testing day... |
