Crashing to Desktop when i click Join Games - Page 2

what worked for me another time (after loading custom statics and all kinds of crap) was to just create a new account...sometimes it is a network error...this completely cleared up the crashes for me one time...no idea what the prob was but now i dont crash at all...

Ive tried everything in this thread, no luck. Still crashes everytime I click Join.

CTD when joining multiplayer game is caused by MS patch KB917422 in conjunction with some antivirus programs. There is an unofficial hotfix KB924867 from MS that fixes this problem (it works for me). Watch out for right localized version.

if you have fiddled with the client or server game files also drives it a bit nuts, have you installed or edited any files before it started crashing?

There was a windows update (a while back for some) that produced this problem. A later update fixed it.

Yea, I think the problem started after I tried installing the PR soundpack, but I completely reinstalled PR twice so I didnt think that was an issue.

Have you tried fiddling with the video and sound settings? It could be that some of the files are missing.
