Default [0909] White Road Posts On Silent Eagle Can Kill A Tank

I was driving along in my Abrams, minding my own business, and wanted to get off of the road, so I just kinda cruised at top speed (since tanks are either STOP or GO GO GO!) and I ran into one of those innocent little white posts along the side of the road. Why they're their, I have no idea. But it seemed this one was tired of being run over by tanks and decided it would make me explode (probably with telekinesis) It was early in the game and fairly out of the way, southwest of the Central Village, so it couldn't have been a mine. I know it was the post and not a missile or tank round because A) there were no other sounds, and B) the post made me stop for a split second before exploding. I've driven over these posts before without incident, so maybe it's just that one post.

The thing is those posts are indestructible. They are small and quite packed up. I know they make a road look more like a road... It's really annoying already that they can make your tank stop. Seems like destroying it is in their power as well.

Confirmed, happened to me as well.

One solution should be to remove the vehicle collision. Or make them breakable, like the road signs, but that would probably be a harder hit on performance.

breakable eats in to teh destructable limit, I'd lean to removing teh collision mesh

it happens because of the age old bf2 problem

moving object colliding with another object = damage

Think EJOD had same white posts at MEC main and they caused no trouble, they just fell over if you drove trough them. They didn't feel to have vehicle collisions back then.

Can confirm, happened to me...BUT I was gunning on the .50 at the time, and when I respawned and got into a new vehicle I got the message 'read your field manual before engaging friendlies' or something along those lines, even though I did nothing wrong. I had to reconnect to solve it.

Oh those little titanium alloy white reflector signs. I also think they have a concrete cınstruction hidden under soil but can't prove it. Anyways...true that they are so annoying

Yes this is rather annoying. A few nights ago me and another dude had a sniper rifle and a marksman kit, accidentally ran into one of the posts and the truck full blown exploded, no warning. One sniper kit lost.

Happened to me once also, accidently rammed one in first 15 seconds of game and tank blew sky high. Reminds me of the fences in FH2... They can be run over with tanks and no damage caused last I checked, somewhat more realistic then a tank ramming a fence or pole and bouncing off or blowing up.

there is a specific number of destructables a mapper can use before causing server problems, EJOD was a distinctly lightweight map, whereas Silent eagle is 4k, and far more detailed.
