Hey,
I just bought and installed BF2 via steam. I installed it and it came updated to the 1.5 patch. I installed PR core first then levels of the current version. I can start up the game to the login and I used Fraps to take a screen shot of the error message. ![]() This is my target "C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe" and this is where it starts in "c:\program files\steam\steamapps\common\battlefield 2\mods\pr" I know its not exactly the same because I am running it through steam and there is no other way to my knowledge to run it with the steam download. I bought the steam version because my old cd got corrupted somehow and I needed to reinstall BF2 so I had to buy a new version. I used to play PR all the time and now I can't even start up the game. I would appreciate any and all help. Is this a problem with the game or the way my game is set up. Help Please, Serafino I forgot to mention that I looked through the previous thread about bf2 on steam and I can't find anywhere how to fix it. I appreciate any and all help. |

hi serafinobp,
Yes we are looking into this, it is unfortunate, but it seems that the steam version does some weird stuff ... in that the BF2.exe that you launch in steam is not actually the BF2.exe. It then launches something else. We are working on a fix for this, but of course we couldn't have planned for it because the steam version came out after our release. In fact we may need you to help us test a fix for it (I am working on it now and hope to have something done in the next week or so). Would you do that ? And by the way , thanks for those steam directories that BF2 is in ... thats good to know, I will have to take that into account as well. |

Thanks for the reply sorry I didn't respond sooner. I've been bogged down by my finals. I definitely would like to help test the fix. Anything to get PR working again and help others with the same problem. Let me know if you still would like help.
Thank you so much for responding, Serafino |

Using the other fix I'm able to play in a server for a short amount of time but then I receive this error.
![]() I'll post this in the other thread too. |
