Default INSURGENCY - No Stab/Arrest Registered when using INSURG Kit as BluFor

Greetings,

Bug Synopsis:

When using the Insurgent's Kits as a BluFor (i.e. picking up one when you kill them), and then using that kit to Stab/Arrest Insurgents with it, a few things aren't working:
  1. Kills are not registering.
  2. Arresting a civilian results in "Civilian Killed" Penalty.
  3. Possible Intel Points do not register.

Where/Maps:

I have confirmed this on two different maps (AlBas, and Falluja). As US/Brit, I had picked up an INSURG Sapper kit, and went behind enemy lines. Since most people are confused when they see me, I can usually sneak up behind them and bayonett them before the clue in.

I successfully bayonetted 5 Insurgents, plus a Civilian. Not one of the INSURG kills registered/no points/No Kill counter increase. Plus, when I did bayonet the Civilian, I was punished/Civvy Kill rules applied. (-100, team points wiped, did not register as a death to the civilian, standard 120 sec spawn time for the civvy. I confirmed this with the Civvy I stabbed via all-chat in the game.

Reproducing:

Reproduce by picking up any INSURG kit and attempting this behaviour where you are the BluFor on an INSURG map.

Intended Behaviour?

Unknown if not using the "restrainer" weapon on a Civilian (i.e. using knife/bayonet) is supposed to operate this way, (it might be). Nonetheless, stabbing a "regular" Insurgent should definitely count towards kills/intel points IMHO.

Likewise, I cannot positively confirm the Intel points. I'll have to do some local testing on that to see if Intel is registering or not.

Thanks for reading.

- JM40.

Reminds me, Sniper kit on Ramiel has a K-Bar and knifing civilians with it does not register as an arrest and gives the Civilian killed penalty.

It's not a restrainer, I'm pretty sure a bayonet kills, not arrests.

I once picked up an Ambusher kit on Ramiel, and a civi was nearby. So I equip the bayonet and chase after him, happy to know the mounted knife has more range than a right hook.

I successfully stab him, and sadly discover I've been punished for killing a civi. I was under the assumption all knives worked like the restrainer. I got the full range of punishments for my innocent folly.

Maybe the knives are coded this way to avoid the unrealistic image of conventional forces filleting civilians with kitchen knives or bayonets on guns. Thus why we're restricted to using the restrainer for arrests.

Of course, that's all speculation on my part, from the way I see it.

By trying too hard, we put ourselves at a greater risk. Don’t you think so?

Only the restrainer "arrests", all other weapons kill and subsequently penalize the killer.

Very well - as I said, this behaviour might be "working as intended" against Civilians.

However, Killing a "regular" INSURG using a knife/bayonet should still register.

You can shoot civies with a breaching shotgun and not get penalized.
