Warning (Part Rant - but there is a bug in there)
A big issue and I think I'm not alone on this subject to me is that Civilians cannot repair the Steel Re-Enforced bridges that connect the Southeast and the Eastern islands to the rest of the city. The way it was explained to me (by the server admin of thebattlearena named, Juniper) was that the map designer meant the map to be that way and that it is a tactic by the British Armed Forces to eliminated the threat of car bombs. That the map designer didn't want civilians to be able to repair bridges. I agree that cutting off resources is a great tactic, but one thing sticks out in this situation. The British Armed Forces start out already with kits, Supply Trucks, APCs, Scimitars and Tanks. Hmmm... Oh yeah and firebases, AA Battery, and bunkers, sandbags. All of these that can be built whenever given the proper requirements.(I left out rally points). Insurgents are already at a disadvantage and yet they get thrown through another loop of having to hunt down and kill (a possibly non-existent) British Engineer and run to his corpse and switch kits before it disappears (anywhere from 3-15 secs) and make it back to the bridges which are usually camped after they are blown by the British Forces by snipers. They must then, repair the bridges and allow traffic to flow once again. This is practically impossible and not to mention retarded. If this is the true intention of the map dev, that's cool. I'll leave it up to him to clarify that. (I still think its retarded though) - If this is a bug, |

in real life i most likely would think "insurgents" would not be able to repair a bridge (especially a CIVILIAN with just a SPANNER) lol
its a BAF tactic, and there is ways to get them back like steal an engineer kit but in my opinion it should be left how it is whether it is realistic or not... |

And what are you doing with your cars and dirtbikes then? "Exploiting" the death zone in the UK main base.
Last Round (same as yours where you complained) I've destroyed around 10 suicidecars in the gate of the main. But I must admit, that it's fun to defend something even if its only the main, because vcp is nearly useless now. For the sake, let civis repair bridges, with longer repair times (less expert knowledge). Additionally they could be killed without punish, if they use the wrench (because it's offensive behavior, like driving sucide cars). |

It did get a tad bit irritating in .6 when the bridges by main would get blown up and the only way to leave was to swim and run...

did it ever occur to anyone that insurgent armies are, by nature, at a disadvantage compared to a real army like the brits. they are not going to be equal in the game either. this represents reality. you cant fight the same way as an insurgent as you would the other factions, so if you dont like bridges being blown try defending them.

But when you think about it, civis in big Muslim cites have some construction abilities. I think civis should be allowed to repair bridges, they're already helping insurgent spot the brits, they should be allowed to repair their infrastructures to get ammunition/supplies flowing faster.
From what I've read, every bridge/house destroyed by American forces in combat has to be replaced with American dollars, maybe they should lose tickets for blowing bridges. Now I'm not sure how the Brit's handle collateral damage. When thinking about this, the mosque and its surrounding area should be a dead zone for the brits. You never see Brits/Americans barging into them in the middle east unless given direct orders from higher ups. Then it's looked down upon. |
