Personally i feel it is a too common tactic. But the insurgents weren't given acces to all the fancy stuff for no reason. It is what keeps gameplay fun (at least for me, i love running over a few brits with a technical). Even though it might not be as realistic, i think this is one of the situations where realism might have to be sacrificed for better gameplay.
In the end though, we can say as much as we like, it will be up to the devs. Also i think that fixing insurgency will lift some of the pressure off of basra. It's a potentially fun map wich makes it really not deserve all this (bad attention?). |

the insurgents are NOT at a disadavntage..if teh brits win its usually VERY!!!! close....today i just finished a game where the brits won by 9 tickets left....but usually the insurgents win....so no its not a glitch and its intentionally there

If anything, the exploit is taking a British engineer kits and fixing the bridges. I don't even think the bridges should be able to be repaired without a command truck to simulate construction equipment in my opinion. If you want to keep yelling allah allah and blowing up tanks with suicide cars, then defend the bridges. The first thing I usually do while playing as a Brit is go blow the bridges, it adds more depth to the whole gamemode and gives the special forces class something important to do. It would be a huge mistake to let Civilians reconstruct bridges. That is my opinion.

Guys, obviously the insurgents have the knowledge, they just lack the proper tools. Taking an Engy kit simulates that "obtaining" of needed tools.
Oh yeah, did I mention this is a video game? I really hate to hear "OMG NO BALANCES!@#" As far as balance goes, I doubt any server has had as many rounds as we have and according to our records it's a slight edge for the Insurgents with 58% of the wins on every round ever since Nov 2007. Considering this is supposed to be asymmetric, I would say a great job has been done by the mappers and the only thing we really need is less networkable objects to stop the crashing. Thanks for making such a great map that obviously holds up in playability and balance. |

I give another vote to civis being able to reconstruct the bridges. Let them wrench away!!
I say this because it is to easy to blow the bridges. Currently a british landy can take out a section of bridge with the 50 cal!! And for those who say it would be unfair, give the british more accurate intel; lets say within 75 instead of 140m. |

Well maybe you could allow Insurgents to place Squad Leader based assets... like... "Wood" bridges... > > planks of reinforced wood or something that allows them to cross that can only be placed over a bridge in a predetermined spot, in which that a ambusher or just a normal rough insurgent could build. It could easily be taken out by some kind of british weaponry, don't know what you would say on that.
Maybe allow for Insurgents to have sandbags too.. cause i'm pretty sure they have those too... somewhere... ... ^_^ but yeah woodplanks, or maybe heavy sheets of poorly placed metal =/ but they can't fix ALL the bridges? |

I think the brits shouldn't be able to blow the bridges so easily right now. It only takes about 10 shots from an apc to knock down a bridge segment. It should take 2 C4's and not be able to be destroyed by a tank/apc. This would at least make it possible to defend the bridges since most of the time an apc drives by and takes about 1 minute to destroy every single segment. I think the insurgents nor the brits should be able to repair bridges for this map though. Or at least quadruple the time it takes for brits to repair bridge segments.

Insurgents disadvantaged???
I think the Insurgents have the biggest advantage they can possibly get: unlimited lives. And the only thing they have to do is defend 3 caches at the time. What's the biggy about the bridges anyway? Let the brits blow them up, makes it harder for them to move around their armor. And for the Island they have to swim to get to any caches. |

btw guys, we tried ingame and you can't move bombcars by putting them on the boat and moving very slowly, they blow up immediately
i.e. - FAILFERRY DAMN YOU EA AND YOUR CRUMMY MODEL COLLISIONS! edit- gonna try crashing so many vehicles on the thinnest part of the river to see if a bomb car can get over the pile of wrecks lol |
