Default Hamas feedback.

In this thread we will discuss Hamas. Since Hamas is new in the PR world, nothing is perfect the first time and everything can have improvement.

So we will provide feedback on our feelings of Hamas.

Please only post if you have played Hamas for at least 5 hours.

Some talking points:
  • Maps
  • Weapons
  • Vehicles
  • Limited Kits
  • Balence issues
  • Realism
  • Models / Textures

Personally, I believe Hamas needs much larger maps.... Gaza Beach is way too small for 2 3 tanks and 4+ APCs.

I will only speak of Gaza Beach, as I haven't played any of the other Hamas maps.

Gaza beach itself is quite resource needy, I have a decent system and i'm getting quite low performance even on medium specs. Compared to what you would usually expect on a small map.

But I realise Gaza is urban with all buildings and that new grass... which could be the issue.

I really like their new weapons, the M16s are a welcomed item in my book.

I appreciate having grappling hooks far more availible, gives insurgency as Hamas more options in the way we can attack.

Their vehicles feel a bit too plain, Hamas is more organized and more funded than Insurgents so you would expect there to be more vehicles built for combat.... Uparmored trucks....More VBIEDs.

There is a lack of optics, which is expected with Insurgent factions so far, which is fine.
  • Officer Kit - Nice to have a few different choices in weapons, although squad organization and effectiveness isn't a high priority as Hamas it feels.
  • AntiTank - Nice to have 3 RPG rounds and at least 1 RKG, but the Merkava and APCs take a huge pounding.... I was dissapointed when Hamas didn't get Tandem Warheads. So in the spirit of feedback, I think it would benefit Hamas to have the AntiTank kit we have now, nerfed and placed as the Riflemen AT. Then have the AntiTank have Tandem Warheads and some other stuff.
  • Sniper is fine, the einfield is perfect
  • AA kit, not used yet.
  • Riflemen AT, what you would expect it to be
  • Riflemen AP, a bit useless really.... claymores unused.
  • Advanced Riflemen, nothing wrong.
  • Combat Engineer - Id like to see it use the artyIED, the pipebombs aren't doing it right now

Balence issues.

The tanks and armor are just dominating Hamas I feel, we need more counters.

Bombcars are hard to find on the map, you almost have to check every car to find it.

Lack of scopes.

I agree with everything except of... that... 1st of all, those m113 are super epic fail and take about 15 .50cal rounds to destroy, i'd never ever ever get inside one of those. :S
There are only like 4 ways inside the city, and the tanks dont spawn right away, plus if the hamas has those supply techies it should be easy to mine up those entrances. Never seen ppl try to do that, but ive only played Gaza like 5 times in total bcuz of perfomance stuff.

Well i played a round of Gaza and when we started the game a bombcar right away came and blew up all of us including our trucks when we were building a FOB. Then when we were driving into the city we got bomb car'd again, and AFTER both of those we were in a APC that got bomb car'd.

3 deaths in a row within like 5 minutes due to bomb cars.

I like everything else though, maybe a few more technicals because we got nothing besides cars.

  • Less limited kits.
You will notice that on the shelves near that little tree grove spawn (inside the asylum) there are two SVD's and about 4 RPGs and multiple LMG kits. This just seems a bit overkill, since the SVD's spawn back so fast I could run around, kill IDF guys and then die and repeat as the kit would have already spawned.

It just felt wrong when our whole squad had some form of marksman bar one with the IDF HAT (much lulz ensued when we killed their tanks)
  • Adding more cars and pickup kit factionization
Also, for gods sake cars MUST be added to the spawn near the grove. Its frustrating when there is a near-death civi car spawning to the north, yet no civi cars spawning close at all.

And there seems to be something very VERY wrong with fall damage as HAMAS. I went off a fall of about 9 feet and went to the bleeding stage before black and white. But alas, the SVD marksman doesn't have a single patch because it wasn't optimized for HAMAS, and is an Insurgent faction pickup kit.

I agree with your reference to ArtyIED's rat. Although they are conventional in a sense I'm sure they also have widespread use of IED's and this should be reflected in game more.

In my opinion Gaza Beach is one of those maps where; If your team know what their doing as Hamas you can't lose. The HAT and LAT kits ARE perfectly effective against the IDF Armour and the entrances into the city are almost too easy to defend.

Due to the awesome focus on grappling hooks and the nature of the buildings, when I am Hamas the entire team usually form a defensive blockade centred around the first two rows of buildings, because you can see IDF base from the city the Israelis are at a HUGE disadvantage. It normally requires their tanks to spawn in order to break through, and then once they get inside the city its not an impossibe task to ambush and destroy tanks from the roofs. If anything the hills between the IDF base and the city need to be a bit taller to allow more covert movement.

I know I focused more on improvements for IDF than Hamas but, apart from the ineffectiveness of the Rifleman AP which boilerrat already pointed out, I see know immediate improvements to the Hamas faction, they are a very well designed 'psuedo-conventional force' and kudos to their Dev team.

What is so ineffective about the Rifleman AP? I watched my SL take out a humvee with those claymores.

Most of the complaints in this thread are about the map Gaza, and not the Hamas faction.

Because Asad Khal cannot be commented on as people see it as a less important map, while Gaza is essentially Insurgency, BUT with a more conventional insurgent faction (look at the weapons, requestable kits and whatnot)

Something very powerful for the hamas are these mushroom helmets. Once you obtaines a IDF kit, which is quite easy in Gaza, most IDF guys won't shoot at you unless very near, which is great. even wehen firing at them they double check.
This makes ambushes and defending quite easy. All in all Hamas are very potent, not to say maybe unbalance on Gaza. Haven't played Azad Khal yet though.

Both Hamas maps need some changes, imho, and the Hamas needs a spawn kit that includes a mine, maybe instead of this useless "HAT" kit, to prevent the Merkavas from roaming the streets as they like to.
I really very much like the look of the Hamas guys and the variety of weapons, remind me of NINJA TURTLES! Alas, it's my most popular faction right now!
