Default Yamalia Armor biased towards Russians?

If memory serves, then the Russian Forces get some 2-3 30mm BTR-80As, and 3 regular BTR-80s. And the Canadians get 4 LAV-III's. In my opinion the Armor concentration is heavily biased towards the Russians with their higher amount of firepower in Armored personnel carriers. I have used the LAV-III two times in 0.9 on Yamalia and engaging enemy BTR-80A's were quite the challenge. AFAIK, the BTR-80 will take in about 30 rounds of the slower, less powerful 25mm Bushmaster, but when compared to the 27A2 that the BTR-80A's have, which are quicker, much more powerful, the LAV-III will take no more than about 15-20 before being destroyed, and this will happen in a much faster manner. Does anyone think that the vehicles are somewhat unbalanced on Yamalia?

They get 2 BTR-80As 3 BTR-80s (maybe 1 less or 1 more) and a very sneakily placed BTR-60. Fair enough they have MORE vehicles, but the 3 times ive faced an LAV in a BTR ive been destroyed in seconds, this was at long range and in dense trees. Also remember the BTR-80s have smaller cannons and therefore are no as effective as the LAVs.

Why does everything have to be balanced?

The BTR80As will eat an LAV for breakfast, that unfortunately is just how it is when your enemy has a massive gun on his roof and you dont. However, the LAV shouldnt be getting beaten by a single 14.5mm BTR80......

Sorry, but face to face the russians lose armor firefights! Also the CF have their chinooks, which provide them within minutes from start with heavily fortified firebases. As I see it, the forces are pretty balanced out.

Canadians get Eryx

Russians get tandem RPG

imo Eryx > RPG due to guidance

therefor balance exists,

EVERY map needs to be balanced

Balance DOES NOT MEAN identical assets, it means that each team needs a 50% chance of winning if both teams have equal skill, and I think yamalia is actually a good example of a balanced map that isn't perfectly symmetrical.

Ive had no problems defeating BTR80A's with LAVIII's. In fact thus far the closest to one that ever got to defeating me was when it got the jump on me. In the end I still tracked and the destroyed before i was tracked myself.

Yamalia is a great map because it is so simple. Nothing complicated.

I would prefer to be on the CF side in LAV's anyday over the Russian BTR's

Overall, the map does seem fine to everyone, but for the number of vehicles that the Russians can operate, I think it would be appropriate if another LAV was added.
