i think it's reasonable compared to the last version but i always find it hard to believe a trained soldier cant shoot straight before 6 seconds or whatever it is. Also insta proning still works and hasnt been got rid of.

I like it better then previous versions.
Though deviation should be linked with what kind of movement you make.
Now you can sprint for two seconds and have the same deviation as if you would have walked with your sights up for 2 seconds.
Sprinting should (like pronediving) always result in max deviation.

Prone diving is ALOT less effective now, also what range is it hard to believe at? people always say that but never specify the range? you also realize that the closer you are the less you have to wait so waiting the full 6 seconds is rarely needed.

It's getting there, that's certain, but there are still those instances...

The key changes for 0.9 are as follows:

Hopefully a poll can be added with options something like this:
  • Deviation in 0.9 is perfect. I consistently hit my targets and think it feels fairly realistic (as far as the BF2 engine goes).
  • I like it and it is better than previous versions, but it still doesn't feel realistic/could use some work.
  • I hate it, I can't hit my targets and find it very difficult to deal with.
  • Deviation?

It will never be realistic IMO, the engine just can't do it.

But it is pretty close. I just hate how inaccurate the pistols are though... Those can be hip fired more accurately in real life than in PR. (Only when you take them out, when you stand still they are fair)

I found that its actually really damn accurate sometimes more accurate than the rifles.

Generally I like the new weapon handling. I can now run, stop, aim and hit reasonably close to my point of aim. This is what I've been waiting for in PR.

It also means you can go around a corner and still shoot with reasonable accuracy.

However, as someone else mentioned there are still 'those moments' when you're left cursing after the deviation causes you to miss some close range shot that would have been easy IRL.

Has recoil been toned down for .9 too? I was using the IDF full-auto M4 and it seemed very controllable, especially at close range. I like!

Overall I don't like deviation, but the current system seems to be working OK, and that's good enough for me until we get and engine which can do weapon sway.

Stu.

Love it.

Pinned down by LAV, hide behind cover.
LAV shoots at someone else, I run around corner and line him up and it is a dead LAV

A real person should not have problems hitting 100 yards when still but moving for a bit and then aiming and seeing the bullet deviate 15 degrees top left from target is random enough when the gun barrel is pointing at target. I bet this will all work out if the screen shakes after a few running so experianced players can try and compansate the deviation while aiming.
