Unusual "Confirmed Kills"

In the first gulf war there was a confirmed kill as follows:

"An F-15E achieved an aerial kill of another Iraqi Mi-8 helicopter using a laser-guided bomb during the air war."

I forget the precise circumstances of the encounter but i seem to remember that the target "disintegrated" under the impact of the munition.

Anyone else found any "unconventional" encounters like this on their web-trawling..... in RL or....

provide parallels to a RL encounter with an incident in-game...

Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.

We will remember them"

That incident was while F15 was providing cover for an incoming CSAR bird to pull out an F16 pilot I believe, and yes its doable in game. Another one that is fun, though unsure about IRL, is helo ramming infantry without crashing. MH-6 is great for it, as the benches make nice guillotines

The first air to air kill of the first gulf war went to an unarmed radar jamming plane after a iraqi jet ran into the mountains after attempting to follow the plane's evasive maneuvers.

oh one of my favourite odd things is the first kill with a Stinger missile launcher fired by some blokes who had no idea how to use it.. ok ill qoute it makes me chuckle.

"Stingers turned up in the Falkands and nobody really knew how to use them or what to do with them, the DS said 'it was just a case of, "Here they are, get to grips with them." So the boys where sitting around in the grass one day, reading the instructions and having a brew, when over the horizon came a flight of Puccaras. A D Squadron member stood up and put the Stinger on his shoulder. It was like a kid in the old Fisher Price ad: "How's this work then? What does this do?" The bloke was pressing all the buttons to make it fire, and it did. It took down a Puccara. So the first time the Stinger was used in anger was by a Brit firing at an Argentinian aircraft.'
About two years later apparently, D Squadron went over to Germany to the Stinger traning centre run by some Americans. The training was in simulators becasue the weapon was so expensive. The American instructors only got to fire one a year, and certainly never used it in war.
'We've got this wonderful weapon,' beamed one of the instructors. 'Any of you guys seen it before?' The bloke put his hand up and the instructor smirked, 'In a simulator?' 'No, i shot a jet with it.'
