BATTLE DRILLs Training Aid
For those of you enlisted ARMY Infantry types, you should know well your Battle Drills, but for new guys coming into the unit, we must teach it over and over. Normally we would use a dry erase board, but the static drawling don't always get the point across very well. I ran across some software at 550cord.com that covers battle drills, and decided I could probably do the same myself, for free. I also wanted to make them more graphically interesting, and integrate some things from actual experience that is useful knowledge.
Why am I posting here? I want to get an idea if other units might be interested once its done. If so, I'll probably present it to my commander to see what he thinks about taking it to another level. I also need some help. Specifically at the moment, I need a good high resolution (800x600) render of a Striker (the config with the RWS on top and the two air guard hatches) from the top (like the top view port of 3DS max) All my graphics are images rendered looking from top down, and I don't have a good looking striker, nore the time or skills to make one, and I thought this might be a good place to ask. Thnx. ![]() This is after the 4 man has moved up. The guy pointing at the building is actualy pointing up. |

I think this is a very good idea and would like to see you take it further.

Sounds interesting...I'm not completely clear on all of it (reasons for requests etc..) but sounds interesting.

Resons for requests? Not sure if I know what you mean, but I am requesting oppinions on the usfullness of the program, and help on some of the graphics. My platoon is quite exited about it, especialy the 2nd squad leader, and my squad leader. It will make things easyer on them, and hopfully have us better prepaired for times when we have the chance for hands on traing. Oddly enough its not often we have the time to run through BD6.

LOL, it may sound strange but we used Ranbow 6 to do some. It was fun, fairly accurate and you could go back and watch from a 3rd person perspective to double check everything.
Aside from that we pushed a couple fence posts in the ground, taped them so it looked kinda like an outline of a room and drilled on that for days on end. I'd like to see what you've got though man. |

Yeah, we still do the glass house every now and then. A few feet of engineer tape and some rocks to hold it down.
I'll have more later but now I must hydrate for a 6 mile ruck march :P |

The march wasent shit. 8 miles around the airfield with 35 pound rucks in PTs. I hung out in the back to get the full slinky effect so I could actualy get somthing out of it. Hows that for flashbacks? "Stop runnin! Who the F*** is running up there?!"
