V-22?

Just wondering...

1. Is the V-22 for the marines IRL? If so is it still being continued (heard about some problems with it)?

2. Would this be possible to put in the game (im assuming it would be similar to the F-35 flight physics)? If so, any major problems with having it in game?

3. Would it be possible to put more then 6 or so people in a vehicle so this could be a major troop transport?

Already been discussed. And yes it is moving forwrd IRL. There are already a few CH-46 squadrons being transferred over to the new platform. The Osprey is "supposed to" see someaction in Iraq next year after the B models are ready to go. V-22B will have two hard points for weapons on the rear ramp, so i've been told by some engineers.
I would like to see some in game too, but i think I remember someone saying it can't be done bla bla bla, BF2 engine as usual.

I WILL TAKE THIS SIGNATURE OFF WHEN WE GET THE HUEY OR CH-53 IN PROJECT REALITY, MARINES DO NOT FLY BLACKHAWKS

It can be, and already is being done in the Rising Conflicts mod. From what I can tell they're using the same hover feature from the F-35 and just applying it to the V-22. I'd like to see it in PR although I admit it would just be a novelty vehicle as theres nothing in PR gameplay the V-22 can do that a Seahawk or Huey/Little Bird cant do just as well.

except fly faster than the fucking death traps that are the BH and LB. Which is pretty much the same reason why the V-22 was made, to achive fixed wing speed with vtol capability.

Well considering that with the V-22 you would be forced to hover before attempting any type of landing you would be just as (if not, more) vulnerable as a chopper. (Depending on the situation of course.)

You could fly higher, faster, carry more people, and the window of vulnerability is very short compared to any conventional helo.

Watch how fast it comes in at the end of this video

In this game, esp on muttrah city, most choppers do not even last long enough to land, they get nailed by AT rockets while flying at full speed (which is fucking slow).

... well if landing was a problem and you just needed to get people on the ground FAST... specops

For this reason i dont think it would be good to have more then one of these type of things on a map at once. You probably wouldnt use this for a combat drop for obvious reasons, but more for moving troops from point A to point B on large maps and going back for more.
