I reckon this can be a very positive thing if the area is getting handed over to Iraqi security forces, but since the article states that they were under protection of UK and Australian forces does that mean that it will still remain under UK and Aus control? I'm know very little about present Iraqi force and their numbers and capability, but I think it would be a good idea to start handing over some parts of the country to them (if there's enough men to go around that is). |

Japan was just there to help rebuild and such (definitely no combat), I believe, so it's kinda unfortunate that they're leaving (to me at least...)

Japs stuck in it for 3 years, helped rebuild, and stepped out when the Iraqis would take thier place. Good for Japan for helping us out.
