To further induce your pessimism of your own country, EG. I'll also add that said enormous budget contributed ample money to the C130 "laser plane" mod, the MKV and of course the F22...........which have all been cancelled.

Vote me for politics. I'll fund the military just as well (but the money will be better spent by Atheos!), but I'll publicly execute anyone who wastes it on crappy projects.

On a more serious note, we've got to get our shit together. Hell, I personally know a few kids around here who have jobs doing NOTHING at some of the big name contractors. They're paid 12-15 bucks an hour to sit around and be "there" in the off chance they're needed. I'm jealous, because all my jobs (I have no connections) have been low paying physical labor where there's no shortage of work, but also outraged because that's a waste of money ffs.

True, my college grants are a waste of money because I'm blowing them on a history degree, but still.

As far as i know its canceled.

The Marine corps isnt to bad about gear and weapons. In my time in i have been giving all the latest in "high speed gear" and have traded out and gotten new gear whenever i wanted. In fact today i went to trade out my IFAK and ESS glasses just because i wanted new ones before i deployed and they had no issue giving me what i needed. Of course there still are many issues but what im saying is that its not all bad and compared to most countries its probably better.

you know what i really want to know one day?

how soldiers from other nations find their equipment, gaz seems pretty content about the brit stuff i figured.

but what about the french, germans, norwegian etc..

maybe it just doesn't plunge through to us as those armed forces aren't nearly as big as the others...

but still would be interesting...

I have an idea, how about cutting military spending and tell them to do their stuff more efficiently? just like with the healthcare system! woot!
