Training will be as normal. Sharpshooter cadres. Pass that and do your time, and you can ask to be progressed to Brecon to try your luck at Sniper Cadre.
Sharpshooter cadres are run internally at teeth arm Regiments, at Bn level. If your Bn is issued L129A1s, they can assign them as per their ORBAT ORG. There will of course no doubt be 'supplimentary' SAA courses for SAA Instructors in time, and no doubt panic stations on OPTAG/Bn PDT for the first planned deployment due to the minimal time it'll be in service vs impending ops where it WILL be used. Most will had hands on US hardware, so know their way round M16/M4/C7 so won't be overly dramatised. You'll just have an overinterested Armourer going nuts at his nice new shooting sticks getting all scratched because a sharpshooter banged in a compound door with the butt and cleared enemy personnel by staving their head in with the muzzle. Command elements will no doubt be briefed on the advantages of it. It means the sharpshooters are no longer expected to hang back with an L96 bolt action, but can advance agressively as part of a section formation +, and gives the facility for +1 in a location. The basic attached precision shooter support is still essentially the same though. Lose the extra 400m range of L96A1, but that can be more than covered with better and more proactive deployment of badged snipers, for 2500m coverage to let the sharpshooters get in amongst 'em |

With the addition of the LMG, as well as the recent upgrades of the L85A2 to include RIS and ACOG (includes a bipod...), this L129A1 and UGL, there is no role, never mind defined role for L86A2 LSW.
Only thing I can think of would for it to be issued to support elements who dont have enough top cover GMPGs for force protection/convoys due to it's full auto, SUSAT and integrated bipod. It's a decent weapon in it's own right, but it's the forgotten weapon that sections have no requirement for now, pretty much since the LMG cropped up. |

does this mean the ACF can get or LSWs back and get some more on top of that? Instead of the 8 (i think) we have to share between 3 companys.

The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.
