I have a feeling they'll just reissue DCU stuff for that. Plus, there's no reason to adopt an entire new camouflage/uniform just for one theater. The Army G-1 authorized commands in the Pacific, South America, and Africa to keep old stocks of BDUs for use y special forces because of UCP's bad performance in jungle/thick brush*

As for the new navy uniform, BLAH.

That's SUCH a waste of money. Why would they deploy a uniform ONLY for Afghanistan? Might as well make it single uniform for ALL units. It's however typical for the American government to do this.

Maybe they don't have enough money. I think they should had issued Multicam when they needed replace for DCU. At least it works.

bah! obviously theres a concious reason behind the bright blue uniforms! its because with thousands of blue marines charging up the beach, the defenders will confuse them with the ocean waves behind them, hence giving new meaning to the term 'wave tactics'

in all seriousness, even here its a big mystery as to why the PLANMC love their bright blue BDUs, theyve even digitised them along with the rest of the type 07 uniforms

So that makes good sense, then. Kinda a niche camo, though.

Same reason some units in the Russian SF use blue I guess. The fear of recognition, if you know you're fighting an elite force, that has an impact. That and they're coming from landing craft and charging up a white beach. Concealment isn't really going to help much

Just like in Vietnam, I guess seeing enemy troops in tiger stripe would have been a bad omen for the NVA / Vietcong

It isn't really for camoflauge purposes.

When you see blue ACU you're going to know its the Navy, just like how the ACU is different from the marines' MARPAT. (US Army doesn't use woodland ACU)

Distinguishing services isn't new, we just got our Navy's new cams.

most of the time its(bluish camo) the easiest way to recognize MVD(police) units, they do not belong to army
in this case this is OMON, well they kind of SF(ON- osobogo naznacheniya), but not those who assault beaches or conduct operations behind enemy lines, they are police police
