US Marines modification for M16

I heard from a friend that the US Marine Corps. is planning to modify their M16A4s by replacing the standard butt stock with a collapsible stock (Like the C7).

Is this true? If so, please post a source. Thanks.

It is pretty easy to do it yourself.

all you need is an M4 buffer tube with a LE stock, crane stock or whatever stock you want.

i think the marines traditionally like the full stock for smashing things, but now days the collapsible stock is probably preferred.

i would imagine eventually (if true, which it seems so) but its very low priority like the new SA80 so don't count on it being in .9

maybe 1.5 or something

To be honest how much of the stock do you actually see? Apart from the menu. It wont give you anything new apart from a look, you dont get any new CQB attack.

With the M4 models you rarely see the stock, as it is fully extended inside the shoulder of the player model.
