Yea, you did. I get much less crashes on Vista and it is much more stable than XP and the added features are much better with the exception of the clicking on extra pop-up messages which aren't a big deal at all.
The whole "Vista sucking" thing was started by some idiots who didn't even try it out yet and I agree Vista had problems in the beginning, but it is fine now. Little things like being able to open multiple tabs in 1 window give it a big advantage over XP along with DX10 etc. You guys are just stuck on the launch day issues like the other poster said. And if you have a pc that cannot run Vista, then you should probably upgrade. Even my college's pcs can run Vista fine. Fine for gaming as well. |

They won't use Linux mostly because of support contracts, incompatibility with existing hardware/software (may be specialized), reliability issues (laptops and Linux aren't exactly the most reliable combination), and you'd have to retrain these guys to use the new OS. There are various other issues but using Linux at home is one thing while using it for a job where people's lives depend on it is another.
