i love the fact it includes blutooth and Blueray as features.

so they can watch HD films in the field and hook up their mobile phones as well.

Offtopic - It may be an OK OS, but it doesn't offer enough advantages for upgrading. It poses many new problems, hogs the hardware, costs a Sh!tload of mullah (with the Office programs as well), ripped off it's "innovations" off of the Mac OS, and relied on an overhyped market and MS' near-complete monopoly for its implementation. Though, I'm sure it's possible to find some advantages, especially if you absolutely need to use more RAM than XP limits you, it's a whole lotta bull if you ask me.

/Offtopic rant

Errm, Ontopic. That's pretty cool, though what will it be used for? You'd think if they needed laptops for being on the field, they'd have ones that are more durable/easy to transport/rugged than going based on aesethics, which is what it seems to be in this case. Though the specs look fine enough, it's not like they'll be needing them for anything utra-hardware whoring, right?

ETA: What WILL they be used for? On the field aid? Or more of a personal belonging while back at base?

Vista may be cool and all, but I'm pretty sure they're more worried about stability/speed, that kind of stuff

And I imagine that this might be useful: recon mission, bring digital cameras back to base, upload pictures to laptop, compare photo's, stuff like that.

Off topic: The SEALS don't give a crap about the cost of Vista. It's not like they have shallow pockets. The problems have mostly been rectified--many people are still stuck on the launch day issues.

On topic: They get these things off the shelf which is why they have all those other features like a blu-ray drive and what not.

The screens slide towards the center. One overlaps the other.

Well the dual screen layout will give more viewing space in a smaller package I would think.
