the rails are strong in this one. doesn't look that bad imo, though i will always prefer the fat, green hand guard <3

And bear in mind HK was owned by a British firm at the time.
I think its all good stuff, personally i have never had a problem ever with A1 or A2 that wasnt my own fault, and this weapon has proven itself over and over during the last few years. Lots of weapons have troubles, lots never see any action. I am just glad that this gun has come on in leaps and bounds, and for those who use it, its behaving itself very well, the more stuff to stick on the better |

I'm not really sure why people would have problems with a weapon system getting rails. If you can strap a flashlight, and a AN/PEQ-2 on it, why not. Flashlight will blind whoever it flashes over, and the AN/PEQ-2 will help show where the enemy is (oh noes COD4!)
It's just making the soldier better. Although i will say, they probably could have made the L85 a little sexier :P |

Im not sure on this, don't really like the new handguard but I loved the original.
Think they should have just put screw holes on the sides and bottom of the original so you could attach the ris, and instead of ris on the top or the handguard they should have replaced the optics mount with ris, like on the M4. Would probably look nicer. Although I've seen this in the paper a few times in the last few days, and soldiers seem happy with them, and I'm basing this on looks not practicality, so I am probably wrong, but I know they still use the SUSAT, so I'm happy.. |

They are replacing the SUSAT with the ACOG.
