That isn't a new version. It's an abomination. It's a showcase by a civvi company to show what can be done with the rail system, which is now in theatre, as well as ACOG.

Judging by the colour of the plastics and the lack of H&K stamp at the rear of the cheekpiece, I am going to go out on a limb and say that's an L85A1 too, not an A2. By the lack of mag release surround, I'm thinking it's not even a live firearm at all. If it is, then it's one of the first batches of A1s to be issued to British Forces, the ones where the mags fell off just when you needed them

Oh god, the good old practice of slapping rails on everything. I've lost all respect for the SA80 now. Although I do like the Holo sights

I'd say those rails get mighty hot - where are the (olive drab) hand guards?

it's not touching the barrel though and the holes in the frame will allow heat to disperse.
