Just done a bit more digging and the Warthog is a monster. The Viking combat weight is 10,600 kg, the Warthog weighs in at roughly 18,000 kg and that's without any extra fits.

I think it's because of the upcoming EU ban on lead-based ammunition. Apparently, lead is not good for you if ingested, at any velocity.

And whilst I'm here, you're not a PC and Windows 7 wasn't your idea, live with it!!!

I presume alot of the extra weight is the armour and the extra size. I did read that it only offers protection against up to 12kg of explosives, which doesn't sound that much to me - better than nothing though I suppose.

Although I can see the reasons behind buying the warthog, the British Army does seem to be buying quite a selection of different armoured vehicles atm. Im sure they could have got one or two fewer types, and saved alot of hassle in the future.

We need different vehicles for different tasks. The Warthog should be able to go where the Mastiff, Warrior etc cannot. Snatch still has a role as it can fit down narrow alleys. It's all a question of requirement and we have a lot.
