This was posted once already in the Off-Topic section. Yes, the boats are real. It's a Special Operations Craft- Riverine (SOC-R) and it's only used by Special Boat Team 22, who specializes in riverine special operations. The conventional US Navy Riverine Squadrons use the same boat in a slightly different configuration as the Riverine Assault Boat. Attached is a photo of the latter that I took at this year's NAS Oceana Air Show.

As you can see, it is armed with two miniguns forward port and starboard. You can't see them from this angle, but there is another M2 mounted port amidships and a Mk-19 automatic grenade launcher mounted center aft.

They just cut the engines. Because they're riding a bow wave, this causes the bow to drop in to the water and significantly increases the hydrodynamic drag.

Same thing as a jet popping up air brakes, except this doesn't require anything to be extended, it just uses the hull itself.

Basically, it works because water is very dense.

We already have one, there's just not enough boats on it.

No, put it in reverse I believe, you hit your wave, go down and into the water, at least I think.
